How the European Work Visa Process Really Works

The visa process is the part of working abroad that candidates worry about most, and the part where misinformation is most dangerous. Here is how it actually works for our placements.

First, the employer applies for a work permit in their country. This is the employer's application, not yours — a legitimate employer sponsors you. This stage typically takes six to twelve weeks depending on the country.

Once the permit is approved, you apply for the work visa at the embassy or consulate with our support. You will need a valid passport, police clearance, medical certificate and your verified qualifications. We prepare this documentation pack with you well in advance so nothing delays your application.

The honest total timeline from signed contract to arrival is usually four to eight months. Anyone who promises you a European work visa in a few weeks is not being truthful with you — and that leads to the most important rule of all: a legitimate agency never asks you to pay for a job.
