Nearly half the candidates who register with us have previously encountered a recruitment scam, and many have lost money to one. The scams follow predictable patterns — learn them and you are far harder to fool.
Warning sign one: you are asked to pay. Registration fees, 'visa processing' fees, 'guaranteed placement' fees — legitimate recruitment agencies are paid by employers, never by candidates. The moment someone asks for money to give you a job, walk away.
Warning sign two: the offer comes too easily. Real international recruitment involves interviews, skills assessments and document verification. If you are 'hired' by a foreign company within days, without ever speaking to anyone, it is not real.
Warning sign three: pressure and urgency. Scammers push you to pay quickly 'before the opportunity closes'. Legitimate processes take months and no genuine employer needs your money by Friday.
Protect yourself: verify the agency has a physical office you can visit, ask for the names of employers they have placed people with, and never send money for a job. If an offer feels too good to be true, it is.
